I was jealous of you, yes, but after seeing how corrupted it made Barath and Witch, I'd like to keep my distance. I prefer it if you leave and never come back.

History[]

Before Gizzy's Arrival

Divine, a cyborg human, pledges his allegiance to the King of Altered, Alpha, as one of his most trusted knights. Divine becomes the closest to the king as both a noble combatant and a good friend. When the king and his wife, Jen, give birth to their son, Brayden, they decide to give him away to Divine in order for him to lead a normal life. Divine swears to the king that he'll protect their son with his life, even if Brayden doesn't know he's the heir to the throne. ("Five Nights at Freddy's", "Origin", "Fight Your Demons")

For years, Divine grows very fond of Brayden as he grows, loving the child as his own son. When Brayden's older, a young adult, a powerful demon from the Nether threatens to destroy the land. King Alpha assembles his bravest knights, including Divine, Voice and Barath, to discuss about fighting off the creature. During the meeting, Alpha prepares his men for battle, says goodbye to Jen and also lets Elizabeth join the fight as a fellow knight. After the conference, Divine and Alpha talk in private about Brayden, should anything happen to him. Divine recalls his promise to Jen and Alpha at Brayden’s birth, and will protect him. He opposes the idea of Alpha dying, but promises him anyway. Once they exit the council, they find out that Elizabeth is gone, but decide to go on without her. The four men arrive at Dawn's Opening, the location from which the Demon will emerge. At the volcano, they see Witch using magic on the lava, but realize he's slowing the Demon's journey. Eventually, the Demon arrives, and so Elizabeth, which leads into a fierce battle against the infernal beast and the king and his army. The battle is long fought, but King Alpha is killed when he sacrifices himself to save Witch. Once the king dies, his powers are split into four elements, and are each given to four knight, where Divine is the only one there not to get a power. This outcome engulfs Divine with jealousy believing that he should've been given an element. Unhappy about this, he leaves and notices Brayden watching the whole thing. As he leaves in fear for the death of his king, Divine stops him and scolds him for not staying at the farm, thinking they should go into hiding now that Alpha's dead. Brayden is sure he isn’t telling him everything, and tricks his caretaker into letting him say goodbye to his friends while in reality he's leaving the farm, as he no longer trusts Divine. ("What Lies Below", "Origin")

Back at the farm, nearing sunset, Divine is amazed Brayden hasn’t returned. He comes to the conclusion Brayden has run away, and thinks about his promise with Alpha. Even though he's not returned, Divine still believes that he'll come back, one day. ("Origin")

During Gizzy's Arrival
After the war, Divine starts living a peaceful life at his farm. His jealousy and envy towards the Guardians diminishes once he learns of how corrupt it turned Barath and Witch, both having committed terrible crimes. At some point, Divine comes across a melon named Bashur. They come to be good friends and gain each others trust as he lets him stay at his place. ("Divine")

Volume Two

Voice, the Air Guardian, comes to Divine in hopes of finding Brayden to make him the new earth guardian. Divine tells him that Brayden ran away long ago. Voice asks Divine if he wants to become a guardian, but denies the offer when he remembers what it did to the first Fire and Earth Guardians. Instead, Divine presents Bashur, thinking he can be the next earth guardian. ("Divine")

Voice thinks that Divine's idea is terrible since letting Bashur becoming a guardian is equivalent to letting Gizzy reaching the prophecy. They both show that anyone from another universe can do as they please. Voice comes up with his own idea and teleports away, which insults Divine. ("Five Nights at Freddy's")

Divine calls for Bashur, but doesn't respond. He concludes that the melon might've overheard the discussion about him being a guardian and has gone out to be one. Divine leaves to go stop him. ("Waiting for Superman")

He finds Bashur traveling around the land until he's attacked and killed by a wolf. He goes after the animal to avenge his friend's death. ("Passage of the Earth")

He continues the hunt for the wolf that killed his friend, which eventually leads to him a house in the middle of the forest. He enters the dwelling only to find Witch inside of it. They begin arguing about each other when finally the owner of the house, Gizzy, arrives. He says he wants to kill Voice in order to open the Prophecy and stop the Guardians. Divine tries to change his mind by saying that there's another way to defeat the Guardians without unlocking the Prophecy, but Witch keeps rambling about how it must be done. Divine asks if he even knows what's inside the Prophecy and replies that he's only gotten hints about it's true nature. Divine and Witch start arguing about whether or not Gizzy must go to the Prophecy until Gizzy mention Brayden. He informs him that he was killed by the leader of Higher Rank, much to his dismay. Divine then tells him that he's in search of the wolf that killed Bashur, who Gizzy knew as well. Finally, Witch and Divine decide to reveal to Gizzy what is inside the Prophecy. They say that a demon was trapped inside the gates of the Prophecy, the same one that killed Alpha. ("What Lies Below")

Volume Three

Gizzy questions why he must fight a demon and why he's the Chosen One. Witch replies by telling him the story of how all of it began, starting with the day of the battle while Divine listens. ("Origin")

Frustrated that he was lied to, and kidnapped into this universe, Gizzy refuses to go to the Prophecy. Witch insists he goes, or else the entire universe will be turned to ashes. He begs Gizzy to help them, but are then interrupted by a small zombie trying to enter the house, which Gizzy kills. While Gizzy is killing the midget, Witch leaves, as Divine remains. He wants to help Gizzy achieve his destiny, claiming they have a common goal in mind; to stop the Guardians. Divine sleeps at Gizzy's house overnight, then set off to find Gypsy at the Lucky Block Cavern, Gizzy leading the way. At the cave, Gizzy and Divine realize that there was an explosion while Gypsy is nowhere to be found. Divine concludes he must have died in the blast, knowing that Gypsy loved the place and would have never left. Annoyed, Gizzy complains, and questions Divine, not knowing much about him. He accidentally offends Divine, a cyborg human by calling him a robot, being to separate things. He sighs, because they had come to see Gypsy to they knew what the future held. Finally, Gizzy agrees to letting Divine come with him on his mission to save the universe by helping him train and control his split personality, which is the key to defeating the Demon. On their way out, he breaks two lucky blocks, getting paintings and diamond amour. He passes it to Divine so he can protect himself. ("Fight Your Demons")

Returning to Gizzy's house, the two start planning their next course of action, but realize that they don't known how they're going to train Gizzy's split personality and don't known where Voice is. Divine remembers that there might be someone who help them: Rascal. Knowing of Rascal, Gizzy tels him that he was imprisoned in Higher Rank, the village where Brayden died at the hands of Tayren. The cyborg human becomes angered at the prospect at going to Higher Rank, but the pair agree to go talk to Rascal, and try to avoid Tayren, although Divine is set on avenging Brayden.. At night, Divine and Gizzy sneak into the city and find Rascal in an underground jail. He reveals that Voice is most likely to be at the king's hideout, also known as the Broken Church. Using his important information as leverage, the servant asks to be released from his confines and will them the way to the hideout. Gizzy and Divine reluctantly accept, but realize they don't have anything to mine the bars with. ("Haunted House")

Once they break Rascal out of his cell, the three journey to the Broken Church, with the former servant as their guide. They discover the immensity of the location and question why it's forgotten. Entering the main hall, the trio find Voice, hidden in the back of the church. Gizzy tries to persuade Voice into helping them unlock the Prophecy and defeat the Demon, instead of having to kill him to get the aura, but the Air Guardian isn't convinced that Gizzy is able to slay the Demon. Voice continues revealing how Witch, Aurona and himself were the ones who kidnapped Gizzy from his cruise and brought him to Altered through the tornado. Knowing the truth, the Chosen One relinquishes his duty to save the universe and hands over his three Prophecy items to Voice. During the chat, Witch teleports to them to warn them that Inferno is coming and plans to join forces with the Demon, who's also his father. In an attempt to make Gizzy kill Voice, Witch injures Divine, causing Gizzy to turn into his split personality. While he's transformed, Divine tries to stop Gizzy, but he knocks him out. Witch is blinded by the events and doesn't see or remember what occurs. When Gizzy reverts back to normal, unaware of what happened, he meets Inferno who arrived during the blackout, and is shocked to find Voice's body, lifeless. He picks up Voice's Aura and the other three Prophecy Items. He sees Alpha and Ratchet also there, and runs off with Divine, afraid of being accused of Voice's death. Once they get out of the murder scene, Gizzy resummons Benji and tells him everything that occurred while he in the FamGuide. ("Hear My Voice")

Following the death at the church, Divine, Gizzy and newly summoned Benji regroup, away from the scene, to discuss their next move. Firstly, Divine suggest that they go to the Prophecy and not let Voice's death be in vain. Even with all four Prophecy items, Gizzy still has major doubts about fighting a demon to save a world he was taken to by being kidnapped. Suddenly, Gizzy is distracted from the conversation when noticing a bunch of Lucky Blocks nearby, planning to break them. Divine cautions Gizzy that they look purposefully placed, but the Chosen One ignores the advice. As he approaches the blocks, Gizzy, along with Benji, fall into a deep hole, turning out to have a been trap. Divine quickly goes to rescue Gizzy by reaching another entrance to his location without getting trapped. The cyborg human manages to find the true entrance, and discovers Gizzy and Benji locked in a cell, surrounded by multiple tribal men who plan to eat them. He then learns that Gizzy is not in cell, instead a large beast is imprisoned, but realized that it's acutually Gizzy's split personality. In his altered form, Gizzy breaks through the prison bars and escapes the den with Divine. Once they're free, Gizzy tries to revert back to his normal self, but finds himself unable to. Now that he's stuck as a monster, Gizzy decides to call himself the Canine as his split personality. Later, Benji tells the group of a man named Sensei who might be able to train Gizzy's split personality. The three resolve to locating this Sensei to teach Gizzy how to control the Canine. ("The Green Bloods")

Headed by the fairy, the group is lead to a large dojo on the coast, mentioning that it's the home of Sensei. Upon entering the building, the gang are suddenly greeted by an ominous voice, later claiming to be Sensei, who assumes the visitors are combatants wanting to challenge the man. Once they find Sensei in a green room as they were instructed, Gizzy states that he hasn't come to fight, but to be taught in the ways of the split personality as he's stuck as his altered form. Benji, not having seen the sensei in a long time, greets the man, only to reveal that Sensei is his father, as he was the one who created the FamGuide. Sensei tells Gizzy that he well be willing to train him, but only if he can complete a quest. Under the sensei's wishes, Gizzy, Divine and Benji are sent to a crypt surrounded by lava to face one of Sensei's enemies named Yandere-chan who's been trying to kill him in his home to make her stop the attempted murders. Meeting the psychopath, the Chosen One tries to reason with her, but figure that there's no point in changing her twisted mind. Out of nowhere, Gizzy uses the forces of the wind to throw Yandere into the lava, melting the woman to death. Not knowing how it happened, Divine has Gizzy show him Voice's aura, and upon further inspection, the former knight reveals that the aura is also the Air Element, meaning that Gizzy is the Air Guardian. With his new Guardian powers, Gizzy teleports the three out of the ravine and back to Sensei's dojo. Now that the mission is complete, Sensei decides to train Gizzy and his split personality. ("Yandere Crypt")

Following the completion of his training, Gizzy is finally able to control the split personality and changes back to his normal self. To avoid having his clothes ripped every time he changes forms, Sensei gives Gizzy some new clothes to wear that won't rip when he transforms. With everything ready, Divine prepares to head on out to the Prophecy, along with the Chosen One, the fairy and Sensei. Before they can leave the dojo, a voice appears, speaking directly to Gizzy in an angered tone. Recognizing the voice, Gizzy reveals that it's Ratchet speaking, but he's unable to understand what he's saying, although everyone else can. Resolving to have Gizzy be bitten by a bludder shark so that he may understand Ratchet's language, the Air Guardian dips into the sea nearby and is successfully bitten by the shark. With the bite, Gizzy finally comprehends Ratchet's words, only to hear that he had his body removed, his home taken and his friends lost, and blames Gizzy for all his misfortune. The Chosen One reveals to the voice that it wasn't his fault, as he was dragged into the universe with purpose of killing the Demon locked away within the gates of the Prophecy. Not knowing of the Demon, Ratchet comes to understand and forgive Gizzy for his actions. With the new friend made, Ratchet decides to join Gizzy's group to the Prophecy, brigning it to a total of five members. ("Guardians vs Rebellions")

Along the way to the Prophecy, the group encounters a pack of wolves blocking them from passing, but Gizzy later explains that the wolves were the ones that originally cursed him and turned him into a werewolf. The leader, introducing himself as Woof, reveals that after he bit Gizzy, him and his pack have been following the new arrival ever since to make him join the gang. Woof also mentions knowing Divine, seeing him when he killed Bashur to eat him and sate the hunger of his brethren. Angered by the revelation, Divine tries to start a fight with the animals for revenge, but Gizzy holds him down, and decide to leave the confrontation, but the wolves state that they'll continue to follow him wherever he goes. In secret, Divine separates from the group and goes back to face Woof and avenge Bashur's death. Eventually, Gizzy and company realize what Divine's doing and arrive to save him from being killed. To stop Divine from getting hurt, Sensei steps in and decides to take on the wolves himself while the others flee. Believing In the professional and his skills, Gizzy, Divine, Ratchet and Benji leave the sensei along with the animals to make their getaway. Once the coast is clear, Divine is lectured by Gizzy of the stupidity of what he did, but comes to understand as everyone closest to him has ben died, such as Alpha, Brayden, and now Bashur. Returning the location of the wolf encounter, they find that the animals are gone, but so is Sensei. Even with the loss of Sensei, the group march on to the Prophecy, thinking it's what Sensei would want. ("The Final Betrayal")

As the day becomes darker, the crew decide to sleep in a mossy stone building for the rest of the night. While Divine is asleep, Gizzy curiously combines all four of the Prophecy items in a crafting grid, which triggers his teleportation to another dimension. When Divine wakes up, he realizes the team leader is missing and left behind all of his belongings, including the Prophecy items. Divine picks up the four items and chooses to go to the Prophecy without the Chosen One, along with Ratchet and Benji, while Gizzy goes out looking for the only weapon that can kill the Demon, the King Sword. ("The Spirit World")

Divine, Benji and Ratchet finally make it to Dawn's Opening, where they find the gates of the Prophecy. Being able to talk through the magical door, the Demon speaks with the new arrivals. Although he's not the Chosen One, Divine reveals the four items of the Prophecy to the beast, but the Demon realizes he's not Gizzy and is the cowardly soldier that ran away from the first battle. Divine tries to prove himself by stating that he's come to slay him once and for all, but the Demon sees through the cyborg human, sensing his true emotions and thoughts. The Demon tells the group that Divine never wanted to kill him, but to end the reign of the Guardians, all because of overwhelming jealousy. Unable to handle the reality of his desires, Divine slowly backs away in shame, and accidentally falls through a hole in the stone. The former soldier ends up in a cavern full of spiders and the biggest one of them all, the Spider Queen, plans to have Divine for dinner. Having the Prophecy items in his possession, Ratchet and Benji decide to go find Gizzy to help them, since they're powerless to save Divine and the four objects due to their physique. ("Friends with the Enemy")

Divine is now imprisoned in webs and spiders are preparing to feast on him. However, he later hears a voice and recognizes it as Jen. Jen climbs down into the cave with the King's Sword. The king's wife demands the Spider Queen to release her friend, but the queen refuses and her children are about to attack. However, to the Spider Queen's surprise, Jen petrifies the smaller spiders with the sight of the sword. As a result, the Queen finally obliges to free Divine. Although Jen considers killing the spiders, she decides to spare them and leave with Divine.

Divine, Jen, and Ratchet return to the Prophecy and meet Gizzy, Benji, Inferno, and the Demon's voice. Divine hands Gizzy the four keys to the Prophecy. However, before Gizzy heads toward the Prophecy, Ratchet interrupts him. He desperately proposes the idea that Gizzy doesn't open the Prophecy and that he stays in Altered. Benji agrees with the voice, while Divine, Jen, Inferno, and the Demon disagree. Gizzy is conflicted by the choice, but then ultimately decides it is better to keep the Prophecy closed. Ratchet and Benji are elated with his choice, and Divine and Jen respect it too. Inferno, however, objects and uses his powers to push Gizzy into the Prophecy. When Gizzy contacts the gate, there is a flash and the four items disappear. The Chosen One recovers, exhausted, and realizes that the Prophecy is opening. Gizzy orders Jen to hand over the King's Sword, which Jen does. Witch also arrives to the scene, waiting for the gate to open. ("Demon Slayer")

Divine is hesitant to fight the Demon, even when Alpha insists that he stays to help Gizzy. He claims his intention was to help then leave, rather than fighting the Demon. Alpha presses him about Brayden's death, which saddens Divine, who was unaware of this. Alpha tells him that he is a failure, both to the king and his son, before Divine runs away from the battlefield, and is not seen again but is presumed that he is still alive. ("The Prophecy")
